There are only three actors who starred in both of the writers’ works. They are Lee Byung Hun, Park Shin Yang and Kim Tae Ri.
First, Lee Byung Hun starred in writer Kim Eun Hee’s debut film “Once in a Summer (2006)” and writer Kim Eun Sook’s drama “Mr. Sunshine”.
“Once in a Summer” is a movie about the love and breakup of Yun Suk Young (Lee Byung Hun), a college student who travels to the country to do volunteer work, and Seo Jung In (Soo Ae), a librarian in a rural village.
In “Mr. Sunshine”, Lee Byung Hun played Eugene Choi, captain of the U.S. Marine Corps and former Joseon slave. After witnessing his parents’ deaths at the hands of their owner, Eugene Choi manages to escape to the United States, where he becomes an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and fights in the Spanish–American War in order to overcome racial discrimination.
Park Shin Yang starred in “Lovers in Paris” written by Kim Eun Sook and “Sign” written by Kim Eun Hee. Park Shin Yang played automobile group president Han Ki Joo in “Lovers in Paris” and forensic doctor Yoon Ji Hoon in “Sign”.
Finally, Kim Tae Ri played Go Ae Shin, an orphaned Joseon noblewoman and member of the Righteous Army, in writer Kim Eun Sook’s drama “Mr. Sunshine”. The actress will take on the role of Gu San Young in writer Kim Eun Hee’s new drama “The Devil”. Gu San Young is a public prosecutor who has been preparing for the 9th grade civil service exam. She gets entangled in mysterious deaths after receiving her late father’s belongings.
