Season 3 of One Punch Man has become the center of controversy following an unbelievable animation error in Episode 3.
In the opening scene, fans noticed that Royal Ripper, a member of the Monster Association, briefly appeared with distinctly feminine features, including a female chest, despite being male in the original design. The change lasted only a few seconds before returning to the character’s original male form.

Initially overlooked, the animation mistake quickly went viral after fans spotted it on social media. Many cited the error as a clear example of the inconsistencies and lack of quality control plaguing the current season’s production.
Since its debut, Season 3, produced by JC Staff, has faced intense criticism. Fans have highlighted poor continuity in battle scenes, rushed editing, and subpar animation quality compared to Season 1, which was produced by Madhouse in 2015. The latest “gender change” error has been called both shocking and unintentionally humorous, further fueling debates over the series’ structural and visual issues.

Sources close to the production report that animators were under extreme deadlines and limited resources, directly affecting consistency and quality. The result has been frequent visual inconsistencies, recycled animation, and static scenes that disrupt the show’s characteristic action tone.
As of now, no official statement has been issued regarding the “gender change” mistake or potential corrections for future broadcasts or Blu-ray releases. However, if serious errors like this continue, One Punch Man Season 3 may struggle to regain fan trust.
