One Piece Chapter 1123 Exposes Shanks as Not the Strongest Conqueror’s Haki User

In the latter half of One Piece, we see that Haki is as important as Devil Fruits, if not slightly more so. Every powerful character has strong Haki, with only a few possessing Conqueror’s Haki. In One Piece, we’ve never seen anyone use Conqueror’s Haki as skillfully and powerfully as Shanks, leading many to believe that the Red-Haired Yonko might have the strongest Haki. However, in chapter 1122, when Emeth unleashed Joy Boy’s Haki, readers got the first hint that there might be someone with stronger Haki than Shanks.

Chapter 1123 of One Piece officially confirms this. In the new manga chapter, while the Straw Hat crew is fleeing from Egghead Island along with the giants Dorry and Broggy, the giants reveal that Joy Boy’s Conqueror’s Haki might even be stronger than Shanks’.

While this might seem obvious after Joy Boy’s Haki was revealed in the previous chapter, it has shattered the long-held belief among fans about pirate Shanks. Although Shanks is certainly one of the strongest when it comes to Haki, he is not at the top of the list.

One fan commented, “Dorry and Broggy bluntly said that the Haki passed down from 800 years ago by Joy Boy is even stronger than Shanks’.”

“Joy Boy’s Haki is on a different level, even stronger than Shanks’ Haki? I mean, we knew Joy Boy would be the strongest in his story, but just imagine when Luffy fully masters his Gear 5 power,” another added.

Joy Boy’s Haki is clearly superior to Shanks’, so with his fated connection to Luffy, we hope the main character will become that powerful in the future and surpass Shanks’ terrifying Conqueror’s Haki.

However, Dorry and Broggy’s words in chapter 1123 also imply that, for now, Shanks is still one of the strongest Conqueror’s Haki users in the world.
