One Piece chapter 1142, titled “The Thing I Fear The Most” may bring fans action, mystery, and surprises as Loki is just freed. To start with, the new chapter opens with a striking cover page, where Yamato attacks Who’s-Who with a powerful Thunder Bagua. Below is a summary of what’s going to happen in this chapter.

Jörmungandr’s Attack on the Walrus School

In this chapter, at the Walrus School, a giant snake named Jörmungandr appears and attacks the place. Fortunately, Saul and Principal Kiba step in and defeat the creature, protecting the children. However, something strange begins to happen: the giant children start sleepwalking toward the beach, following a magical arrow shot by Gunko.

Loki got Released

In the Netherworld, Loki orders Luffy and the others to remove the final shackle from his leg, warning that he can still destroy Elbaph even in his current state. Then, in a dramatic moment, Loki strikes the Adam Tree with his Ragnir weapon, sending a bolt of lightning from the sky. The lightning hits the Adam Tree, setting it on fire. This action not only showcases Loki’s destructive power but also puts the entire island in danger.

The Children’s Fears Become Reality

Back at the academy, the children’s fears manifest as terrifying monsters resembling Loki, Black Nika, Dragon, and other frightening figures. Teacher Ange recalls teaching the children to draw their greatest fears and suspects these monsters are physical manifestations of those fears. This surreal scene adds a psychological horror element to the story.

The Holy Knights observe everything

While all this unfolds, the Holy Knights watch from afar. Sommers asks Gunko what her greatest fear is. Gunko’s answer is direct and impactful: Nika. This revelation not only ties into the legend of Nika, a recurring theme in the series, but also hints that even the Holy Knights have their own fears and weaknesses.

On the other hand “One Piece” will take a one-week break after chapter 1142.
