Oh My Girl’s Mimi Refuses Solo Debut, Prioritizing Group Activities

On “Boss in the Mirror” aired on July 30, Mimi revealed that she rejected the proposal for a solo debut from her agency.

During the show, when the hit song “Why Calling” by Diva played in a retro concert VCR, the host Jun Hyun Moo asked Mimi, who was born in the 90s, if she knew the song. Mimi responded by singing along to “Why Calling” and mentioned that she couldn’t help but know the classic song since it was released when she was 4.

Jun Hyun Moo suggested that Oh My Girl could remake “Why Calling,” and other guests agreed that it would suit the group well.

Suddenly, Mimi made a remark that seemed to imply she was considering a solo debut, “I’ll do it alone.” Kim Hee Chul also supported the idea, adding that Mimi has hip-hop vibes and would do well as a soloist.

Jun Hyun Moo asked if she was thinking about going solo, to which Mimi replied, “No. The company is pushing for it, but I am rejecting it. We should go together as a group. Group activities come first before solo.

When talking about broadcasting station review regulations that banned singers from dyeing, sunglasses and piercing in the 1990s, Jun Hyun Moo asked Mimi, a girl group member, “I heard that girl groups’ short pants aren’t allowed.”

Mimi confessed, “Since we’re a girl group, we wear skirts a lot. It’s natural that underpants are essential. Sometimes, even though I pull down my underpants, people keep asking me to pull down more. This makes me pull my underpants down more than skirts to show that I’m wearing underpants.”

Kim Heechul said, “That’s why pants are completely attached to skirts these days.” In response, Mimi agreed that underpants are being produced so that they are attached to skirts.
