Oh My Girl Mimi misunderstood as a foreigner at immigration checkpoint and almost couldn’t get on plane

The story of Oh My Girl Mimi being misunderstood as a foreigner and having her passport checked at the immigration checkpoint at the Korean airport has been re-examined.

Last January, on SBS’ pilot entertainment program “Authorized Personnel Only”, Kim Jong Kook, Yang Se Hyung, Lee Yi Kyung and Oh My Girl Mimi visited the restricted area at Incheon International Airport.

On this day, the four had time to experience entering all areas of the airport that are not accessible to the general public.

They boarded the plane, looked around the cockpit and talked with the flight crew. Mimi had the experience of dialing the captain’s office with a flight attendant.

Mimi and Yang Se Hyung then headed to the immigration checkpoint and checked each other’s passports.

Attention was focused on Mimi’s passport. Yang Se Hyung looked at Mimi’s passport photo and said, “Who is this? Your hair is the same, but you shouldn’t photoshop your passport photo.

Mimi made everyone laugh as she responded, “I photoshopped the amount of hair.

Afterwards, the two arrived at the immigration checkpoint and underwent passport screening. Yang Se Hyung passed safely right away, but Mimi was withheld.

The examiner, who was looking at the passport and Mimi alternately, began to persistently ask, “Are you sure you are Kim Mi Hyun?” and “Where and when did you get your passport issued?

In the end, the examiner called somewhere and asked, “Please help me identify a passport.”

Bewildered by this, Mimi said, “I’m Korean. Do you know Oh My Girl? Do you know ‘Dolphin’?” She sang Oh My Girl’s representative song “Dolphin”.

Mimi’s pronunciation went wrong, raising the suspicion that she is a foreigner and causing laughter.
