One Piece is currently in the Elbaf Arc, and fans are eagerly waiting for Oda to bring them closer to the series’ deepest mysteries.
Known Details about the Blue Star
In Chapter 1144, Oda revealed major secrets that change how fans view the entire world of One Piece. To put it simply, he gave readers a glimpse into the First World, and confirmed the existence of one of the oldest nations in the world where One Piece takes place, known as the Blue Planet (also referred to as “Blue Star”).

It’s well known that the One Piece world is vast, yet very little is understood about its full scope. Geographically, the world consists of scattered islands and is mostly covered by ocean. A massive landmass known as the Red Line stretches around the planet, intersected by the Grand Line and the Calm Belts on its two sides, where no winds blow. These geographical features divide the world into four seas: **North Blue, South Blue, East Blue, **and West Blue.

Thanks to the Egghead Arc, fans have learned that 900 years ago, the planet was not as submerged in water as it is today. A massive war from the past sank much of the world by 200 meters, implying that the One Piece world we now see is a post-apocalyptic version of an older civilization.
Oda has now officially named the planet “Blue Planet”, responding directly to a fan’s question about the bridge seen by Roger and Oden. He clarified that the bridge was not Tequila Wolf nor Bourbon Wolf and playfully dodged giving its actual name.
The Oldest Kingdom in the One Piece World
In Chapter 1144, Oda revealed that some nations in the One Piece world have existed for more than 3,000 years — much older than the previously assumed 900-year timeline. This suggests that the First World existed long before the “modern” history of One Piece began.

Lilith, one of the Vegapunks, also mentioned discovering an ancient scientific facility in Elbaf, estimated to be at least 3,000 years old — confirming Elbaf’s direct link to the First World and its states as one of the oldest nations in the One Piece world.
Other ancient nations include Arabasta, with a castle built 4,000 years ago, and Ohara, where the Tree of Knowledge was planted 5,000 years ago. However, Elbaf may be even older, especially due to its ties to the Sun God Nika and the extended lifespans of the Giants, particularly the Ancient Giants.
This connection is not new. Vegapunk previously revealed that the myth of Nika originated in Elbaf, and Joy Boy, wielder of the Nika power, was directly compared to a legendary Elbaf figure— possibly meaning Nika was a giant who lived over 3,000 years ago.

All current information points to the First World existing around 3,000 years ago, and any mention of that era in the texts of Harley likely refers to this ancient timeline.
The rise of Nika has shaken the ruling class, tied to legends involving the Earth God and Serpent of Hellfire destroying the world together. It’s possible that both Nika and the First World were lost in this catastrophe, with only fragments like Elbaf surviving the destruction — though its population may have been greatly reduced.
