It seems as if she has shifted her focus to being an event celebrity, as she displayed a rarely seen smile in front of the cameras.
On the morning of August 23rd, Seo Ye-ji attended a pop-up store event at Lotte Department Store’s main branch. SEVENTEEN members S.Coups and Hoshi, who are currently advertising models for the brand, as well as actress Lee Yoo-mi, who previously shot a pictorial, were also present. Seo Ye-ji was invited as a celebrity guest, along with Ki Eun-se.
Since the 2022 drama “Eve”, Seo Ye-ji had been on a break. For her first official appearance in 2 years, she chose to attend this event. She was dressed in a long-sleeved see-through shirt and a red mini skirt with a rose design, completing her look with black high heels.
Throughout the event, Seo Ye-ji bowed politely, made heart poses with her hands and smiled brightly. She even held up the brand’s products and actively engaged with the cameras. This was a stark contrast to her previous public appearances, where she was known for a more reserved demeanor, now showing off a much friendlier image.
Seo Ye-ji faced a series of controversies starting in 2021, including allegations of gaslighting her ex-boyfriend Kim Jung-hyun, accusations of school bullying, false claims about studying in Spain and mistreatment of staff. Although she attempted a comeback with the 2022 drama “Eve”, it was difficult for her to recover her tarnished image.
As a result, Seo Ye-ji did not secure any follow-up projects and went into an indefinite hiatus. Two years later, in June, she announced a fresh start with a new agency and has since been sharing glimpses of her daily life on her personal SNS accounts.
