On August 20th, the YouTube channel “The KStarNextDoor” posted a video titled “‘JangKaSull? Haha…’ Asking NMIXX’s Sullyoon about JangKaSull (ft. Vocal Power Show)”.
In the video, the members of NMIXX met with Jonathan. This year marked NMIXX’s first appearance at a university festival. Haewon shared, “It was our first time to perform without a rehearsal. It was fun. The audience’s reaction was overwhelming. They were trying to eat us.”
Haewon, who chose Park Jin-young as her role model, explained, “First of all, I respect how he continues to stay in shape to perform. You can’t learn that anywhere else.” She humorously challenged, “Say it if I’m wrong.”
Jonathan then asked Sullyoon, “You pretended to be down to earth, but you kept asking your fans if you were pretty.” Sullyoon smilingly admitted, “I think that shows my desire to be approved.”
The term “JangKaSull” was coined to refer to IVE’s Jang Won Young, aespa’s Karina and NMIXX’s Sullyoon as the top visuals of the 4th generation of K-pop. When Jonathan playfully asked Sullyoon “Your name comes at the end. What do you prefer? Do you prefer ‘SullKaJang’ or ‘SullJangKa’?“, the NMIXX members reacted, “How can you ask such question?” and “How can you tell her to choose?“
Sullyoon also turned the question back to Jonathan, asking, “What do you think?” Jonathan joked with the production team “Are you seriously calling this a script? What kind of question is that? Fix it. If you do this, I refuse to be the host“, bringing laughter to the set.
