New Jeans, The Boyz, and singer-actor Cha Eun-woo proved their popularity by winning the MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2023 (VMAJ 2023)
According to the list of winners announced by MTV VMAJ on October 27th, NewJeans was selected as the winner of the ‘Best Buzz Award’.
THE BOYZ won in the ‘Best Asia Group’ category, and Cha Eun-woo, a member of the group Astro, won in the ‘Global Icon Award’ category.
In particular, this is the first time that an Asian artist has won the Global Icon Awards category, Cha Eun-woo’s agency Fantagio said.
Stray Kids‘ “Case 143” was named the winner of the Best Group Video/International category.
JYP Entertainment’s Japanese girl group NiziU’s “Paradise” was awarded in the “Best Pop Video” category.
The MTV VMAJ is the Japanese version of the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA), a prestigious pop music awards ceremony in the United States, and has been held since 2002.
This year’s MTV VMAJ will be held in Japan’s K Arena Yokohama from the 22nd to the 23rd of next month.
