Following the court’s decision upholding the validity of their exclusive contracts, NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein have firmly declared they cannot return to ADOR, and will immediately file an appeal.
On the morning of October 30, the Seoul Central District Court’s Civil Division 41, presided over by Judge Jeong Hoe-il, held a verdict hearing in the lawsuit filed by ADOR to confirm the validity of the exclusive contracts with the five NewJeans members.

The court ruled in favor of ADOR, stating, “It is difficult to conclude that the defendants (NewJeans members) were forced into exclusive activities against their will. The contracts remain valid, and ADOR retains its managerial authority over NewJeans.”
However, shortly after the verdict, the members through their legal representative from the prominent law firm Sejong issued an official statement expressing their clear opposition to returning to ADOR.
“While the members respect the court’s decision,” the statement read, “they believe that continuing normal entertainment activities under ADOR is impossible due to the complete breakdown of trust.”

The statement added, “We will immediately appeal the first trial’s decision. We hope the appellate court will carefully review all the factual circumstances and legal principles surrounding the contract termination and issue a wise judgment.”
The members also extended their gratitude to fans waiting for them throughout this ordeal.
Meanwhile, NewJeans’ exclusive contracts with ADOR are set to run through July 31, 2029.
