NewJeans Makes First Public Appearance After Min Hee-jin’s Removal

On September 3rd, NewJeans made their first public appearance after Min Hee-jin was removed from her position as CEO of Ador. The group attended the ‘2024 F/W Seoul Fashion Week’ held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.

Despite the internal turmoil within their agency, the NewJeans members were seen working diligently, performing hand hearts and hand waves. They alternated between bright smiles and blank expressions.

Previously, on August 27th, Ador held a board meeting and decided to replace Min Hee-jin with Kim Ju-young as the new CEO. Ador announced that Min Hee-jin would continue her role in producing NewJeans. However, Min Hee-jin contested this decision, stating that it was made without her consent and accusing Ador and HYBE of media manipulation.

Amidst the controversy, fans expressed concern for NewJeans members. On September 2nd, the members shared their feelings of confusion after Min Hee-jin’s removal through the fan communication platform, Phoning.

Minji expressed, “We barely have enough time to talk about good things, so I feel very sorry and frustrated that we have to go through this unnecessary trouble. Even as I write this, nothing has been resolved, and I don’t know how long these unsettling days will continue. It may be selfish to say this, but I hope we won’t have to go through tough times with our Bunnies anymore.”

Daniel added, “Since the CEO’s removal, it has been difficult and confusing. I felt a bit lost for a while. Please just know that we are always thankful for our Bunnies and thinking about them.”

Additionally, Hani shared a video of herself singing a self-composed song, saying, “I wanted to erase the pain for Bunnies, the members, and the CEO, and this song just started spinning in my head at some point.”
