On June 27, posts began circulating across online communities and social media from people who said they had unexpectedly encountered NewJeans members Haerin and Hyein in the U.S. One fan uploaded a short video with the caption, “A chance meeting with NewJeans,” explaining that they had run into Haerin and Hyein while abroad.
The video shows Hyein standing face-to-face with Haerin as the two chat casually. Hyein can be seen smiling softly during their conversation, while Haerin is only visible from behind. Several staff members carrying cameras were also present, leading fans to speculate that the pair may have been filming content.
This is not the first time Haerin and Hyein have been spotted overseas. In April, multiple social media users reported seeing the two members in Copenhagen, Denmark, with photos and eyewitness accounts quickly spreading online.
At the time, fans initially believed only Haerin and Hyein had traveled to Denmark. However, it was later confirmed that fellow member Hanni had also joined the trip. ADOR subsequently acknowledged that NewJeans members had indeed visited Copenhagen together with staff members.
Meanwhile, NewJeans continues to navigate the aftermath of its legal dispute with the agency.
Last December, ADOR filed a damages lawsuit reportedly worth approximately 43.1 billion KRW against Danielle, members of her family, and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, among others.
According to reports, Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni are currently preparing to resume activities with ADOR. Member Minji is also said to be engaged in positive discussions with the agency regarding her future promotional plans.
