The legal battle between NewJeans and their agency ADOR continues, as both parties attend a second mediation session today (September 11) at the Seoul Central District Court.
The Civil Agreement Division 41 (Judge Jung Hoe Il presiding) scheduled the session for 1:30 p.m., following an initial round of talks held on August 14. At that time, NewJeans members Minji and Danielle appeared on behalf of the group for a closed-door mediation that lasted around 80 minutes. Despite efforts, the two sides failed to reach an agreement.

Today’s session once again aims to explore the possibility of settlement. If no resolution is reached, the court has indicated it will move toward a final ruling on October 30 .
NewJeans members argue that trust with ADOR has been irreparably damaged following the dismissal of former CEO Min Hee Jin , who played a central role in their debut and early success. In a petition submitted to the court, the members stated:
“Asking us to return to ADOR is like asking a school bullying victim to go back to where the perpetrator is.”

ADOR, however, maintains that the contracts remain valid and insists the relationship has not completely broken down. The agency claims it is still actively preparing for NewJeans’ comeback and argues that returning to ADOR would ultimately be in the group’s best interest.
The outcome of today’s mediation could determine whether NewJeans and ADOR can find common ground or whether the court will issue a binding judgment next month. Given the group’s global influence and ADOR’s position under HYBE, the case has become one of the most closely watched entertainment law disputes in recent years.
