Netizens think that a part of TWICE’s new song is very similar to Red Velvet’s Umpah Umpah
Not only is the melody similar to Red Velvet’s, but a detail in TWICE’s new MV is also claimed to be similar.
TWICE‘s comeback at 2pm (local time) on November 12 is receiving much attention from the Kpop fan community. The JYP girl group released the full-album Formula Of Love: O+T=<3 and the title song SCIENTIST.
On social media, netizens discovered an interesting detail in the song “SCIENTIST“. The pre-chorus was commented to have a very similar melody to a segment in Red Velvet‘s “Umpah Umpah“. This similarity is so ‘shocking’ that many netizens mistakenly think they are listening to the song of the SM girl group when they listen to SCIENTIST.
On the other hand, the pink-blue color scheme and a dance pose in the SCIENTIST MV are also said to be similar to those in Red Velvet’s Queendom MV. Netizens are extremely interested in these coincidences and look forward to a real collab between the two popular girl groups from JYP and SM.
Some comments:
- TWICE’s new song really has a part that sounds like a Red Velvet’s song.
- The chorus doesn’t sound the same but the part before it sounds a lot like Umpah Umpah.
- I love this coincidence. Hope to see two groups collab one day.
