6 Netflix’s original K-dramas that already confirmed Season 2, “This is the best lineup”
Here are Netflix’s original series that are making fans excited for their Season 2 releases.
“D.P.” is a story about Jun Ho and Ho Yeol of the D.P. squad, who are in charge of arresting military deserters, as they chased people with various background stories and face a reality they did not know about.
In season 1, actors Jung Hae In, Koo Kyo Hwan, Kim Sung Kyun, Son Seok Gu, Shin Seung Ho, and Jo Hyun Chul appeared and performed their roles enthusiastically. In addition to Jung Hae In, Koo Kyo Hwan, Kim Sung Kyun, and Son Seok Gu, Ji Jin Hee and Kim Ji Hyun will join in season 2.
2. Sweet Home
The original webtoon drama “Sweet Home” tells a bizarre and shocking story that takes place after a reclusive high school student, who isolated himself in his room due to the wounds of school violence, lost his entire family and moved into an old apartment building.
The major cast members of season 1, including actors Song Kang, Lee Jin Wook, Lee Si Young, Go Min Si, and Park Kyu Young, will also join season 2 with new actors Jin Young and Oh Jung Se.
3. All Of Us Are Dead
Netflix’s “All Of Us Are Dead” is a drama based on a webtoon of the same name, which was serialized on Naver Webtoon from 2009 to 2011. It tells the story of students who were isolated and waiting for rescue in their school where a zombie virus was spreading as they struggling together to survive.
4. Squid Game
The Netflix series “Squid Game” depicts people’s struggle for survival in a game to win 45.6 billion won. Director Hwang Dong Hyuk, who directed the films “Silenced,” “Miss Granny” and “The Fortress,” has reportedly envisioned the story since 2008. In addition to Lee Jung Jae, actors Park Hae Soo, Oh Young Soo, Wi Ha Joon, Jung Ho Yeon, Huh Sung Tae, Anupam, and Kim Joo Ryeong appeared.
5. Gyeongseong Creature
“Gyeongseong Creature” is a story of people fighting against monsters born out of greed in the spring of 1945, when survival was everything. In seasons 1 and 2, Han So Hee plays Yoon Chae Ok, who is good at handling guns and knives after wandering across Manchuria and Shanghai throughout her childhood.
Park Seo Joon plays Jang Tae Sang, the richest man and informant in Bukchon. The role of Maeda, the hostess of the family that commands the Gyeongseong area, is played by actress Soo Hyun, and the role of Kwon Joon Taek, Jang Tae Sang’s best friend and a pro-Japanese man, is played by actor Wi Ha Joon.
Season 1 will be released in 2023, and at the same time, Season 2 is already reportedly in production.
“Hellbound” tells the story of a religious group using God’s judgement to control people after many were sentenced to hell by strange beings one day.
In season 1, actors Yoo Ah In, Yang Ik Joon, Kim Hyun Joo, Park Jung Min, and Won Jin Ah appeared. Yoo Ah In plays Jeong Jin Soo, the cult leader of the New Truth Society, in seasons 1 and 2. Jeong Jin Soo is the man who throws the entire nation into confusion with the logic that “the demonstration performed by God is to punish human sins.”
Yang Ik Jun is a detective from the Seobuk Police Station who lost his wife to a murderer when his only daughter, Jin Hee Jung, was still an elementary school student. Kim Hyun Joo plays Min Hye Jin, head of So Do law firm. Min Hye Jin has been defending the victims of the New Truth Society, but she is at risk due to the traps set out by Jeong Jin Soo.
