NCT’s Japanese member Shotaro, who made his debut a year ago, doesn’t seem to get the treatment he deserves from SM.
Currently, NCT is the boy group with the largest number of members in Kpop. Alongside Sungchan, Shotaro is the latest member that was added to the lineup of NCT in late 2020. Although he is a one-year-old rookie, Shotaro’s popularity is no joke when his fancam views always rank at the top among NCT members. Recently, during the promotion for NCT U’s latest title track “Universe“, Shotaro has once again proved his charm by having the highest fancam views.
Shotaro‘s fancam views on Inkigayo’s “Universe” stage reached 762,000 views after more than a day, the highest among 9 members of the subunit. Compared to the member with the lowest views, Shotaro’s view count is 8.6 times higher. This helps Shotaro earn the nickname “NCT’s fancam king“!
However, despite his popularity, it seems that SM is not giving enough attention to Shotaro, as shown by the fact that he has only engaged in a few activities since debut. It took nearly a year for SM to let Shotaro have a comeback from his debut in NCT 2020’s album. Moreover, after his participation in the Hard Carry collaboration stage 11 months ago, the male idol barely had any other individual activities.
Korean netizens can’t help but wonder why SM is neglecting Shotaro despite his undeniable talent and charm:
- Seriously, Shotaro barely has any activities even though he’s a rookie.
- Shotaro’s fancam views are enough to show how charming he is.
- Is SM gonna keep Shotaro in their dungeon and make him wait every year for one year-end comeback of the whole NCT?
- Shotaro has so much potential. His dancing skills are amazing. He deserves more promotions.
- Shotaro’s lines are severely little too, what’s wrong with SM?
- He’s the king of fancams in NCT. Shotaro exudes a special charm every time he performs on stage.
