NCT Mark shows generosity for a sued malicious commenter, “Considering the suspect is still a minor”

Mark, a member of SM’s boy group NCT, decided to deal with the malicious commenter he sued with mercy.

On August 21st, SM Entertainment stated, “We already collected data, such as malicious posts about NCT member Mark and sued them for insults. As a result, the police identified one suspect”.

They continued, “We intended to respond strictly without mercy to protect the artist. However, according to Mark’s consideration of the suspect, who is still a minor, and that they deeply reflected on their wrongdoings and asked for forgiveness during the investigation, we agreed to treat the case with leniency to avoid criminal punishment after receiving their official apology and repeated promises”.

SM added, “Through this incident, we would like to inform you that we are still collecting and reporting malicious posts against the artist as well as filing complaints and requesting investigations. We would like to emphasize that we will take strict legal actions to eradicate such illegal activities against our artist.”

The apology of the malicious commenter was also released. They wrote, “In January 2022, I made posts disparaging the appearance of NCT member Mark using severe swear words. Knowing that I was investigated, I couldn’t stop crying. I just wanted to turn back the time. I felt so sorry for my parents and wanted to apologize to NCT Mark. If there were a chance, I wanted to meet him and ask for forgiveness”.

Earlier, SM opened a center called “KWANGYA 119” to deal with complaints and reports about protecting artists’ rights and interests. They already sent two haters who made malicious posts about singer Taeyeon to prosecution in June.
