According to the legal circle on March 7, the first trial for Kim Sae Ron, who was indicted for violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) and other charges, will be held on March 8 at the Seoul Central District Court.
After 10 months since the drunk driving accident, Kim Sae Ron will finally appear in public at the trial. Many people are curious about her stance regarding the charges.
Kim Sae Ron made her debut in 2009 with the film “The Man From Nowhere” and won several awards for her excellent acting skills. She has since appeared in various works and has been dubbed Korea’s “National Little Sister” thanks to her pretty visuals and outstanding talent.
However, on May 18th last year, Kim Sae Ron caused a car accident while driving under the influence of alcohol near the Hakdong intersection in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. She crashed into guardrails, trees, and transformers while fleeing the scene.
Her blood alcohol level was 0.2%, which exceeded the level for license revocation. The accident caused damage to transformers, resulting in a power outage in nearby facilities and stores. Kim Sae Ron personally apologized to the affected business owners.
At the time, Kim Sae Ron compensated more than 30 shop owners who suffered damage due to the drunk driving accident and paid for the repair costs of the transformers. She also wrote a handwritten apology letter and suspended all activities. However, it was later revealed that she had a birthday party with alcohol just two months after being caught drunk driving, which sparked criticism.
Last year, YouTuber and former entertainment reporter Lee Jin Ho revealed on his YouTube channel, “Kim Sae Ron has spent all the money she earned from her acting career on the settlement and compensation for the drunk driving accident and is working at a cafe due to financial difficulties.” However, it is now known that she has stopped working at the cafe.
