These actual sisters are having a drama face-off.
Lee Da-in of MBC’s “My Dearest,” which is having spectacular return with Part 2, and Lee Yoo-bi of SBS’s “The Escape of The Seven,” which is on the rating rise, will compete head-to-head.
◆ The growth of an elegant Lee Da-in
“My Dearest” is a historical melodrama about the love of the people who go through the difficult times during the Joseon dynasty. The drama returns with part 2 about a month after the end of part 1, and attention is focused on the love line of the main characters Lee Jang-hyun (Namkoong Min) and Yoo Gil-chae (Ahn Eun-jin), who suffered a heartbreaking breakup. At the time of part 1’s airing, it exceeded 12% of ratings and grabbed all the buzz.
In the drama, Lee Da-in plays the character of Kyung Eun-ae, the daughter of a noble family who changes through the war. It was her first work after her marriage to singer Lee Seung-gi.
Ahead of the release of Part 2, Lee Da-in said, “As time passes from Part 1 to Part 2, Eun-ae also grows a lot and moves forward. Eun-ae has become grown up and wiser, and the mournful love story she is portrayed in can give viewers great fun.”
◆ Lee Yoo-bi’s vicious performance
“The Escape of the Seven” is about the lies and desires of countless people. It is a revenge drama depicting the survival struggle of seven people involved in a girl’s disappearance and blood revenge toward them. It is the return work of writer Kim Soon-ok, who drew attention with the “Penthouse” series. Although it is on the rise with an audience rating of 7.7%, the drama is drawing criticism from viewers at the same time because of its extreme storyline.
Lee Yoo-bi is playing the role of Han Mo-ne, one of the villains. She can do any evil things to become a star, leading to the main development of the story.
“My Dearest” will extend the first and second episodes of Part 2 by 90 minutes and broadcast at 9:40 p.m. on October 13th (KST), while “The Escape of the Seven” is broadcasted at 10 p.m (KST).
