“I won’t die even if I feel like dying”, Moonbin’s meaningful motto left during his lifetime
As ASTRO Moonbin suddenly left us, the words he left during his lifetime are being re-examined.
Moonbin mentioned his motto in an interview with a magazine last year. Regarding the motto “I won’t die even if I feel like dying”, he replied, “There’s still no change.”
Moonbin said, “Actually, it’s not once or twice that I endured on stage while thinking about this. There are times when it’s really hard. Of course, my muscles are tired and my body is tired, but from what I see, the strength to endure is mental strength! If you don’t have enough physical strength, you have to endure it with your mental strength.”
He also said in an interview at that time, “I often write. If I fall too deeply into daydreaming, I’ll come up with the worst situation. When I feel anxious, I have to stop, but sometimes I keep thinking and make mistakes.”
In 2019, Moonbin took a break from activities due to health problems. In an interview ahead of the release of Moonbin’s first drama “At Eighteen”, he mentioned that he had become lethargic due to his long life in the entertainment industry, saying, “I really just lay in bed for a few weeks. When I’m really having a hard time, comfort and advice aren’t very helpful. When I feel like I have nowhere to go, being prepared to break or pushing myself to the limit is what works for me.”
In an interview with Cosmopolitan Korea in 2022, Moonbin was asked, “If you were an angel and you could do one good thing, what would you do?”
He confessed, “I want to give another chance to people who made extreme choices. We never know when and where something will happen, but we don’t always think about death, do we? Just thinking about happy things, like what we will eat today or what we will wear tomorrow, is not enough for a day. That’s why it’s so sad and regrettable that some people think of making extreme choices.”
Meanwhile, Moonbin was found dead by his manager at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul at around 8:10 PM on April 19th. In this regard, his agency Fantagio stated, “ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky.” His mortuary was set up at the funeral hall of Asan Hospital in Seoul. His funeral will be held on April 22nd. According to the wishes of the family, Moonbin’s funeral will be held quietly with the attendance of only family members, relatives and colleagues.
