Summary
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo follows Go Ha-jin (played by IU), a 25-year-old woman from the modern era, who is transported back to the Goryeo Dynasty during a solar eclipse. She inhabits the body of Hae Soo, a young woman caught in the royal palace’s intricate web of love, politics, and rivalry among King Taejo’s sons. Initially drawn to the kind and gentle 8th Prince Wang Wook (Kang Ha-neul), Hae Soo’s heart shifts toward the brooding and misunderstood 4th Prince Wang So (Lee Joon-gi), who later becomes King Gwangjong.
As Hae Soo navigates the treacherous court life, she becomes entangled in the fierce battle for the throne among the princes, who must confront their ambitions, loyalties, and affections. Her presence not only alters the fate of those around her but also challenges her own notions of love and destiny.
