Moon Ga-young’s popularity is soaring across the globe, with her recent visit to Malaysia drawing an unprecedented crowd.
The actress, who starred as Kang Hee-ji in tvN’s hit weekend drama Law and the City, received a hero’s welcome with 20,000 fans gathering for her appearance — the largest K-drama fan reception in Malaysian history.

Law and the City wrapped on August 10 with a nationwide average rating of 7.7% and a peak of 8.9% (Nielsen Korea), marking its highest viewership yet. Moon Ga-young’s first role as a lawyer earned praise for her stable acting and delicate emotional delivery.
The series achieved significant international success, ranking in the Top 5 on global OTT Rakuten Viki across 150 countries, including the US, Brazil, France, UAE, and India. It also topped time slot ratings in Southeast Asia and became CJ ENM’s best-performing drama of 2025 in Singapore, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
To celebrate the finale, Moon Ga-young attended fan events and press conferences in Kuala Lumpur on August 10 and 11. Upon her late-night arrival, she was greeted by a throng of fans at the airport. At the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur red carpet event, a staggering 20,000 fans came to see her, with local and global media, including Variety, covering the moment.

During the press conference, Moon Ga-young expressed her gratitude: “It’s a special and precious opportunity to watch the final broadcast in another country. I’m truly thankful for the love for Law and the City from all over the world.”
Her agency Peak J Entertainment announced that Moon Ga-young will soon embark on an Asia fan meeting tour and will return to the big screen in the upcoming film If We.
