Moon Ga-young donates 100 million won in proceeds from her first prose book

On August 26th, the agency Peak J announced, “Moon Ga-young decided to donate a portion of the proceeds from her first prose book ‘PATA’, published in March, hoping the money would be used meaningfully. She donated 100 million won to Ewha Medical Center.”

Ewha Medical Center, to which Moon Ga-young donated the funds, was established in 1887 as Korea’s first women’s hospital and has its origins in Bogunyeogwan, where medicine, nursing and education began in Korea. The center is dedicated not only to patient care and treatment but also to conducting in-depth research on women’s diseases, contributing to medical advancements.

Moon Ga-young was reportedly moved by the history of Ewha Medical Center, which traces back to Bogunyeogwan, and donated the funds with the hope that the institution will continue to develop with a sense of historical mission.

Ewha Medical Center expressed their gratitude, stating, “We will do our utmost with sincerity to serve our patients, ensuring that the spirit of this donation becomes a source of pride.”

Moon Ga-young’s prose book “PATA” was well-received and gained significant attention in the publishing industry. Meanwhile, she has been cast as the lead character Baek Soo-jung in tvN’s new drama “Black Salt Dragon”, set to air in 2025.
