MONSTA X Kihyun, Hyungwon and I.M. appeared at the airport in black to mourn Moonbin’s passing 

MONSTA X Kihyun, Hyungwon and I.M. appeared in black to express their condolences. 

On the afternoon of April 20th, MONSTA X Kihyun, Hyungwon, and I.M. left for the U.S. to attend the “We Bridge Music Festival & Expo in Las Vegas.” They appeared in black to mourn the loss of a fellow idol. 

Recently, a member of the group ASTRO, Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam, Seoul on April 19th. The exact cause of death has not been reported, but the police suspected that he took his own life.

In light of the news, Moonbin’s fellow idols were shocked by the sudden passing and entered a period of mourning over his death. A lot of activities and programs have been cancelled. Prior to their departure for the U.S., MONSTA X Kihyun, Hyungwon, and I.M. visited Moonbin’s mortuary before leaving for the music festival in Las Vegas. 

Three members of MONSTA X were in all-black suits to extend their condolences to the bereaved family and expressed sadness over the passing of the late idol. 

Following the official announcement of Moonbin’s death, Fantagio, the late idol’s agency, asked fans to respect the family’s privacy as the entire funeral process would be held in private, including from the wake to the departure. In an official statement, they said, “The bereaved family of Moonbin, who is deeply saddened by the sudden unfortunate news, wishes to carry out the funeral quietly,” adding, “We sincerely ask that you make his last journey beautiful, and we earnestly ask for your deep condolences.”

The mortuary was set up at the funeral hall of Asan Medical Center in Seoul and the funeral is scheduled to be on the 22nd.
