“Minions 2” beat “Alienoid Part 1” to rank first in terms of the overall reservation rate

“Minions 2”, the second story of the animation film “Minions”, is receiving a lot of attention even before its release.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on July 19th, as of 12:50 PM, the movie “Minions 2” reached 110,223 pre-orders a day before its release, ranking first in terms of the overall reservation rate.

It is a record that surpasses all major domestic and foreign works such as “Alienoid Part 1“, “Top Gun: Maverick”, “Hansan: Rising Dragon” and “Decision to Leave”.

In particular, the achievement of beating “Alienoid Part 1” starring actors Ryu Jun-yeol, Kim Woo-bin and Kim Tae-ri, which is scheduled to be released on July 20th, is significant.

“Alienoid Part 1” is currently in the six-point range in the ratings of reporters and critics released by Naver. At the press preview held earlier, there were mixed reviews. Some said that it was fresh due to its creative worldview. Others evaluated that it was more bizarre and confusing than director Choi Dong-hoon’s previous work “Jeon Woo-chi: The Taoist Wizard”.

Expectations are high on who will laugh in the battle between “Minions 2” and “Alienoid Part 1”.

Meanwhile, “Minions 2” is a blockbuster about unpredictable adventures of the minions Kevin, Stuart and Bob, who follow only the world’s best supervillains, to rescue the mini-boss who disappeared with New Face Auto.

“Minions 2” is drawing attention by recording a box office profit of about 275.5 billion won within 2 weeks of its North American release.

In addition, it topped the box office in 58 countries around the world, including the UK, Australia, Germany, Brazil and Mexico, showing Illumination’s strong box office potential.
