In an official statement on August 28th, Min Hee-jin‘s side emphasized, “ADOR’s board of directors removed Min Hee-jin from her position as CEO during a meeting held at 1 PM on August 27th. This decision is in direct violation of the shareholder agreement and court order prohibiting voting rights.“
The statement continued, “There have been reports stating that ‘Min Hee-jin will step down as CEO but retain her position as an internal director at ADOR and continue to handle NewJeans‘ producing duties’. This information, based on materials distributed by ADOR’s board, is clearly false. ADOR’s board unilaterally notified that Min Hee-jin would be assigned to producing tasks, but portraying it as if Min Hee-jin willingly stepped down and chose to continue only in a producing role is deceiving the public.”
They further stated, “The court’s decision clarified that there were no illegal reasons as claimed by HYBE against CEO Min Hee-jin. Nevertheless, ADOR’s board, with a majority of directors appointed by HYBE, decided to remove her as CEO and, on top of that, distorted the facts to mislead the public into believing it was not a dismissal.“
Previously, on August 27th, ADOR announced, “The board meeting appointed Ju Young Kim as the new CEO. Min Hee-jin will step down as CEO but will remain as an internal director at ADOR and continue her producing role for NewJeans.”
