According to an exclusive report by MyDaily on May 22, the first hearing date for Source Music’s damages lawsuit against Min Hee-jin was changed because of a workshop schedule involving Min Hee-jin’s legal representatives. The lawsuit, filed by Source Music against Min Hee-jin, seeks 500 million KRW (approximately 330,000 USD) in damages. The hearing was originally scheduled for May 29 but has now been moved to June 12.

What makes the delay particularly eye-catching is the reason. MyDaily reported that all three lawyers representing Min Hee-jin from the law firm Sejong were scheduled to attend the firm’s workshop on May 29 and May 30. Because of this, they were reportedly unable to appear in court on the original hearing date.

A representative from Sejong confirmed to MyDaily, “It is true that the hearing date was changed due to a workshop.” The request to change the date was reportedly submitted by Sejong on May 19. The court approved the change on May 21, officially moving the hearing to June 12 at 4:45 PM at the Seoul Western District Court.

Source Music filed the lawsuit against Min Hee-jin two years ago. The company claimed that several statements made by Min Hee-jin during her conflict with HYBE were not true and involved Source Music. At the time, Source Music expressed strong regret over what it described as false claims and inappropriate remarks made in public settings. The company also objected to the mention of other artists by name.

Source Music stated, “We express deep regret over the situation in which false information and rude expressions were made in public while mentioning other artists by real name, and we strongly request that such incidents not be repeated in the future.” The company also denied claims involving LE SSERAFIM, stating that allegations suggesting the group had caused harm to another artist were false.

Source Music added, “The act of forming public opinion by presenting false claims and untrue information as established facts is clearly the spread of false information.”

The delayed hearing is now set to become another closely watched moment in one of K-pop’s most controversial legal disputes. With the court date pushed back to June 12, attention is once again turning to how Min Hee-jin and Source Music’s conflict will unfold in court.
