Middle School Classmate Shares Story of SEVENTEEN’s Boo Seungkwan’s Kindness “Standing Up Against Injustice”

On the morning of July 26th, a comment was posted on the 11th episode of “Tailored Chat” titled “SEVENTEEN vs 117kg! The Talk Show Where the Top-Tier Idol and Top-Tier Comedian Face Off” on the YouTube channel “BDNS”.
A person identified as A, who claims to be a former classmate of Boo Seungkwan from elementary and middle school, shared their story. A said, “During my first year of middle school, while everyone was trying to assert their dominance, I was at the school store when B, a boy I had never met before, asked to borrow 100 won. Since I was broke and had no money, I told him so, and he suddenly grabbed me by the collar and started cursing and went back to his classroom.”
A continued, “I was scared and felt wronged, but Seungkwan came over, asked why I was so gloomy. When I explained what happened, he held my hand and insisted we go together to get an apology.”
Despite initially resisting out of fear, A said, “Seungkwan convinced me that if we didn’t address the issue, it would happen again. He persuaded me that it was important to address the wrongdoer firmly so that it wouldn’t happen again. We went to B’s classroom, but when B came out and stood in front of me, I froze and couldn’t say a word.”
A explained, “Seungkwan, with a stern expression, confronted B, asking, ‘Did you really think it was normal to grab someone by the collar and curse them for not giving you money?’ He showed that you can overwhelm someone without shouting or using insults.”
Thanks to Seungkwan, A received a proper apology from B and was not mistreated again.
A reflected on Seungkwan’s dream of becoming an idol during BIGBANG’s era, saying, “Despite mockery and sneers from immature friends, Seungkwan always proudly declared his dream of becoming an idol. Seeing him achieve that dream is both amazing and admirable.“
A added, “Seungkwan’s refusal to tolerate injustice and his proactive nature as a child seems to have been a sign of his character. Even now, as an adult, I think he was always special.”
Finally, A said, “Fans may know, but he was a friend with a unique character as a child. I was concerned that some might think he was rude due to his seriousness, so my short comment turned into a long one.”
