MC Mong THE BOYZ controversy

On May 18, MC Mong held a livestream through TikTok where he strongly denied multiple allegations against him, including rumors involving military exemption, prostitution, and illegal gambling.

During the broadcast, the rapper also addressed accusations that company funds had been used for illegal gambling activities.

“MBC’s ‘PD Notebook’ asked me two things,” he explained. “Whether I used company operating funds for illegal gambling and how advance payments were used. If people look through my bank accounts, they’ll see everything. Does it even make sense to gamble using company money?”

MC Mong then discussed the financial situation surrounding One Hundred and the contracts signed with THE BOYZ after the group left their previous agency.

According to him, THE BOYZ’s former company initially offered approximately 500 million KRW per member as signing bonuses, while One Hundred allegedly paid a total of 16.5 billion KRW.

“We paid three times more,” he claimed. “The initial production cost alone was 7 billion KRW. Baekhyun’s first album cost 10 billion KRW to produce, and the second cost 5 billion KRW.”

The artist also defended Cha Ga Won, chairman of FIAC Group, stating that Cha Ga Won personally invested enormous amounts of money into the company.

“She personally spent 155 billion KRW,” MC Mong said. “For example, if the company only needed to spend 100,000 won per member, she was spending 10 million won instead. Conflict between us was inevitable. But people say that money was used for gambling? Does that make sense?”

He continued by criticizing THE BOYZ directly over their ongoing legal dispute with the agency.

“If THE BOYZ members received 1.5 billion KRW each, then they should at least return 8 billion KRW before leaving,” he stated. “But they don’t even want to return that. What kind of behavior is this?”

THE BOYZ recently notified One Hundred of their intention to terminate their exclusive contracts, citing serious contract violations and a breakdown of trust. The group also reportedly filed legal complaints against Cha Ga Won over alleged embezzlement under South Korea’s Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.

MC Mong co-founded One Hundred with Cha Ga Won in 2023 but reportedly left the company in July 2025 after internal conflicts emerged.

The livestream has since sparked heated reactions online, with netizens divided over MC Mong’s explosive remarks and the growing legal battle between the agency and THE BOYZ.
