According to Nielsen Korea on August 23, Mary Kills People’s sixth episode, aired on the 22nd, recorded just 1.8% nationwide. This ties its own lowest record, matching the ratings of the third episode.
The show opened with a promising 3.2% on its August 1 premiere but quickly dropped into the 2% range by episode two and has since continued to decline.
Mary Kills People is a suspense thriller centered on a doctor who secretly helps terminally ill patients end their lives and a detective who investigates her actions.
The series stars acclaimed actress Lee Bo-young alongside Lee Min-ki, generating initial buzz thanks to their strong performances. However, even their star power has not been enough to reverse the drama’s ratings slump.
With the drama now halfway through its run, attention is on whether Mary Kills People can recover in the coming weeks or if it will finish as one of MBC’s underperforming projects of the year.
