Firstly, “Marry My Husband” became the first K-drama to reach the top spot in the global daily TV show rankings on Amazon Prime Video since its global service launch in 2016. Not only did it top the daily rankings, but it also reached the second spot in the monthly TV show rankings for January, setting a new record for K-dramas. Viewers worldwide enthusiastically embraced the “Marry My Husband” craze, showing passionate interest and love for two months, captivated by the reincarnation and revenge depicted in the drama.

The “Marry My Husband” craze extended beyond Asia, traditionally a stronghold for K-dramas, to include numerous Western countries as well.

The key to the drama’s popularity was attributed to the thrilling catharsis achieved through reincarnation and revenge. Major U.S. media outlet Forbes wrote, “Korean dramas in which characters get second chances have been very popular lately, with plots that rely on time travel, alternate universes or reincarnation.

Britain’s renowned magazine NME analyzed, “Deliciously melodramatic, immensely addictive. A fantastical melodrama that tells a tale of revenge through time travel. It satisfies by giving the audience exactly what they want.” Similarly, the U.S. entertainment media outlet Screen Rant praised, “The 2024 K-drama series where time travel meets revenge is the best of both genres. ‘Marry My Husband’ is already set to be among the best K-dramas of 2024.

Actress Park Min-young also expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming love from viewers worldwide, stating that the character Kang Ji-won would remain unforgettable to her. She expressed her desire to meet viewers worldwide again with better works and acting.

Thanks to the drama’s popularity, the cast and production team of “Marry My Husband” are planning a reward vacation to Vietnam for three nights and five days in early March. Actors Park Min-young, Na In-woo, Lee Yi-kyung and Song Ha-yoon are expected to attend. The vacation was arranged by Studio Dragon and DK E&M, who were responsible for planning and production, to encourage the actors and staff who worked on the project.

PD Son Ja-young of Studio Dragon said, “We embarked on a journey of nearly four years, from discovering the original work in 2020 to entering filming in June 2023, and now we have come to an end. The reward vacation will be an opportunity to foster harmony among the production team and cast members and to prepare for further collaboration on future projects.”

Meanwhile, “Marry My Husband” recorded high viewership ratings nationwide during its broadcast period (according to Nielsen Korea). In addition, it has been ranked first for seven consecutive weeks in the TV-OTT integrated drama topicality survey conducted by Good Data Corporation’s official platform FUNdex in the third week of February. Park Min-young also topped the list in the actor’s topicality category for seven consecutive weeks, proving the continuous high interest poured in throughout the broadcast period.
