Macau casino heir Mario Ho Yau Kwan is at the center of a social media storm after a slew of scandalous allegations exploded across Weibo on July 31. Accused of cheating on his wife Ming Xi, fathering a secret child with BY2’s Yumi, and even having an inappropriate relationship with his half-sister Laurinda Ho, Mario responded with a rare and emotional public statement.

The 29-year-old son of late casino tycoon Stanley Ho took to social media to fiercely deny all claims, labeling the rumors as “absurd” and “imaginative beyond belief.”
“They said I had a child with another woman — I already clarified back in 2019. There’s no child! Then they said I was dating both members of BY2. I was just speechless. And now, a rumor involving my own sister… My god, some people’s imagination is off the charts,” Mario wrote in a lengthy open letter.
He added that although he had previously ignored online gossip, this time was different: “People around me are being hurt, and my family’s name is being dragged through the mud. So let me say this clearly: every rumor being spread is false.” Mario also called on the public to respect privacy and reject the assumption that photos with women equate to romantic involvement.
The allegations, however unproven, have rattled the Ho family’s public image and stirred massive speculation. One of the most sensitive elements was the rumor surrounding his half-sister Laurinda — a claim so inflammatory it shocked even the tabloid-saturated Chinese entertainment scene. Adding to the tension is Ming Xi’s ongoing silence. The Chinese supermodel, who married Mario in 2019 and is the mother of their two children, has made no public statement. Her muted response has left some netizens asking: “If there’s no fire, why is there smoke?”

Born in 1995, Mario is the youngest son of Angela Leong, Stanley Ho’s fourth wife. A gifted student, he won gold medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad and gained acceptance to both Oxford and MIT, ultimately choosing the latter. After graduating in 2016, he returned to Hong Kong to launch his business ventures, quickly emerging as a rising figure in the family empire.
His marriage to Ming Xi solidified his role in the family’s elite circle. In 2023, Ming Xi was reportedly gifted a HK$4.6 billion cargo ship by Angela Leong and later named as one of the official successors to Leong’s multi-billion-dollar business holdings.
