Male idol accused of school violence 9 days after debut… Victim responds to agency’s position by releasing additional evidence

The netizen who claimed to have been bullied by member Myung Ho of rookie group 8TURN, complained of unfairness.

On February 8th, a post titled “I’m the victim of school violence by Ji Myung Ho idol group 8TURN” was uploaded on the online community Nate Pann.

A, who wrote the post, revealed that they suffered severe and continuous verbal abuse by 8TURN Myung Ho (real name Ji Myung Ho) from their first year of high school in 2017.

After suffering violence for a month, A reported it to the School Violence Prevention Committee after but the case was canceled as the majority of the committee members agreed that it was not school violence, saying “High school boys often joke around like that”, “That’s how boys at school play with each other”, “If you report this to the violence committee, you will push other friends to the red line. You don’t like that either, do you?”, etc.

In this regard, A said, “Later, one person met me on behalf of the whole gang. He smiled, made a 90-degree bow in a playful and said ‘I’m sorry. Big brother!’. Did I waste all my time, my mind, suffer continuous pain and come all the way here just to hear this kind of an apology?”, revealing that the incident was closed without a sincere apology.

In particular, A complained, “I can’t forget the eyes of those boys, including Ji Myung Ho”, adding “Due to this trauma, I’m still unable to talk to men even when I’m at work and I always tremble when making eye contact with men. I’ve also been receiving psychiatric treatment for my mental distress for 7 years.”

A said, “7 years later, I saw him and my body immediately reacted first. I can hear the sound of him swearing and laughing at me while calling my name”, adding “He hurt others badly to the point that they cannot live a normal life, but he has achieved his dream and is loved by many people”.

A added, “I was very surprised to know that there were other victims. I hope that my courage to speak up about the case will reach out to many victims so that we can all receive the proper apology we couldn’t get in the past.”

Meanwhile, A released lots of evidence, including transcripts of conversations at that time, original Kakaotalk messages, graduation photos, documents for fact-checking, testimonies from classmates, etc. along with the disclosure post to add credibility to their claims.

8TURN Myung Ho’s agency MNH Entertainment also said on the group’s official fancafe, saying “Recently, false information, including malicious slander, about 8TURN Myung Ho has been circulating online”, adding “Our company has confirmed and cross-verified the facts of such content in various ways, and we would like to that the online posts are not true and it is damaging the reputation of our artist”. They also announced their plan to take legal action.

In response to the agency’s statement, A said, “I saw their position. They conclude that it was obviously false information without confirming the fact with the victims and hurt them once again. I have to get an apology. I still have one more transcript”. A added, “I attach the date and year of the time in the Naver box in case the fact confirmation might be fabricated. I have the original text of the Kakaotalk conversations.”
