Lu Yuxiao has become one of the most talked-about names in the Chinese entertainment industry recently not because of a new hit project, but due to mounting controversy over her alleged unprofessional behavior on set.

According to QQ, Lu Yuxiao is currently filming the historical drama Dancing with the Tide alongside Tan Jianci. However, the actress has come under criticism after behind-the-scenes clips surfaced showing her behaving playfully while filming a funeral scene.

In one particular scene where Lu Yuxiao was supposed to threaten Tan Jianci with a knife, she was reportedly seen repeatedly holding the knife incorrectly. Even after being corrected, she allegedly continued making the same mistake during reshoots and secretly adjusted the knife’s direction herself afterward.

Critics argued that her actions appeared dishonest and careless because the scene was never officially marked as flawed, meaning post-production staff could accidentally overlook the mistake during editing, potentially resulting in continuity errors in the final broadcast. Many also pointed out that repeated mistakes wasted filming time and affected the hard work of the entire production team.

Lu Yuxiao was additionally accused of lacking focus during filming. Reports claimed that when the director called for filming to begin, she was sometimes not even in position, forcing the crew to wait. In another instance, while Tan Jianci was reportedly immersed in an emotional scene, Lu Yuxiao was said to be dancing to a Douyin trend in funeral attire nearby.

Another controversy involved a romantic scene under fireworks, where Lu Yuxiao allegedly failed to look at the fireworks cue at the correct moment, causing the production team to reshoot the scene and waste additional resources. She was also criticized for frequently laughing during filming and ruining takes, with some accusing her of negatively affecting Tan Jianci’s performance.

This is not the first time Lu Yuxiao has been accused of causing trouble for co-stars. Previously, while filming Love between Lines with Chen Xingxu, her fans became involved in a major online conflict. According to Sina, fans from both sides repeatedly clashed online, with Lu Yuxiao’s supporters accusing Chen Xingxu’s fandom of bullying her and spreading edited images mocking her appearance.

Chen Xingxu’s side denied the allegations, stating that any physical contact during filming was directed by the production team and emphasizing that he had actually helped guide Lu Yuxiao’s acting rather than behaving inappropriately. However, fans from both sides were later criticized for spreading insulting comments against each other.

Rumors also circulated claiming Chen Xingxu had once waited seven hours because Lu Yuxiao was busy with a separate schedule.

Earlier, during the filming of My Journey to You with Cheng Lei, the actor similarly became embroiled in rumors of inappropriate behavior toward Lu Yuxiao, despite no concrete evidence emerging. Even so, Cheng Lei faced severe criticism online.

Because she is known for having strong on-screen chemistry with co-stars, she is frequently paired with popular male actors who already possess large fandoms.
