On February 8, Chinese media outlet Sohu reported that actor Lu Shan Dong, born in 1997, is facing intense public outrage after his ex-wife publicly exposed his alleged domestic violence, infidelity, and criminal record on social media. Once known for his gentle on-screen image through dramas such as Love and Hate with You and Just Out of Reach, the actor’s reputation has now completely collapsed.

The exposé came in the form of a lengthy online post titled “The gentle CEO on screen, but a womanizer and wife-beater in real life.” In her post, Lu Shan Dong’s ex-wife shared multiple pieces of evidence, including their marriage registration certificate, injury assessment reports, and official legal documents confirming that the actor had been sentenced to prison, asserting that she had accused the right person of the right crimes.

According to the woman, she officially registered her marriage with Lu Shan Dong on December 14, 2023. At the time, the actor even wrote a personal letter promising to be a good husband as proof of his love and commitment. However, the marriage reportedly began to unravel almost immediately. Just one day after their marriage registration, on December 15, Lu Shan Dong allegedly gave gifts to a female streamer, asked for her WeChat contact, and began private conversations with her.

The situation escalated in the early hours of December 20, 2023. After returning from a night out drinking and partying with friends and several unfamiliar women, Lu Shan Dong reportedly lost control at a hotel. He allegedly threw his phone and violently assaulted his wife. The victim stated that the actor chased her down to the hotel lobby and attacked two of her friends, two security guards, and one police officer using a large U-shaped lock. In total, six people were injured during the incident.

As a result of the assault, the woman suffered severe eye injuries, including ocular trauma, damage to the optic nerve, blurred vision in her right eye, and heavy bruising around the eye socket. Lu Shan Dong was immediately arrested, criminally charged, and later sentenced to 10 months in prison for domestic violence, disturbing public order, and assaulting law enforcement officers. He reportedly served his sentence from late December 2023 until early November 2024.

During this period, Lu Shan Dong’s studio allegedly misled the public by claiming that the actor was hospitalized due to overwork and serious illness, requiring long-term rest and recovery. His management company also attributed his weight gain and voice changes to medication.

Despite his criminal conviction, the ex-wife claimed that Lu Shan Dong showed no remorse. In April 2025, after being caught maintaining inappropriate contact with another woman, he allegedly pushed her to the ground, strangled her, and slapped her six times consecutively. She further revealed that when she suffered a miscarriage, Lu Shan Dong refused to care for her, subjected her to emotional neglect, and blamed her for the situation.

Exhausted both physically and mentally, the woman decided to divorce him in August 2025. However, even after the divorce, she claimed that Lu Shan Dong continued to harass her by sending anonymous threatening and curse-filled letters.

Following the revelations of his violent past and prison sentence, Lu Shan Dong’s carefully cultivated “gentle male lead” image has completely crumbled. He is now facing the possibility of an unofficial industry ban. Brands and colleagues have reportedly removed content featuring him from social media platforms, while his two unreleased dramas are said to be at high risk of being shelved indefinitely with little chance of airing.

The scandal has sparked widespread condemnation online, with many netizens calling for stricter accountability and questioning how such behavior could have been concealed for so long within the entertainment industry.
