Bayern Munich has officially entered the race to sign Luis Díaz from Liverpool, launching an opening offer of €52 million, according to German outlet Bild. The bid marks the Bundesliga giant’s first formal move to bring the Colombian winger to the Allianz Arena.
However, Liverpool is standing firm with a valuation of €80 million, setting the stage for what could become a tense transfer negotiation. Although Díaz’s representatives have reportedly expressed the player’s interest in joining Bayern, the Merseyside club has no intention of letting him go easily.
Most recently, Bayern upped their bid to €67.5 million, but Liverpool swiftly rejected the offer, emphasizing that Luis Díaz is not for sale. The 28-year-old is seen as a key component of new manager Arne Slot’s tactical setup for the 2025/26 season.
Díaz had a stellar campaign, scoring 17 goals and playing a vital role in helping Liverpool win the Premier League. His current contract runs until 2027, and the club believes his market value has now surpassed €100 million.
Sources in Germany suggest that Bayern is prepared to increase their bid to €60 million plus performance-related bonuses if needed. The club’s interest in Díaz has grown since Jamal Musiala’s injury, which will sideline the star for the opening months of the season.
Bayern also enjoys a financial edge over Barcelona, Liverpool’s other main rival in the Díaz pursuit. Due to La Liga salary cap constraints, Barça is currently unable to register new signings, putting them at a disadvantage despite earlier showing strong interest in the Colombian.
Despite the rising pressure, Liverpool is not in a hurry to offload Díaz. In addition to his current form, the recent tragic passing of Diogo Jota has deeply affected squad planning at Anfield. Díaz’s versatility—being able to play both as a left winger and central forward—makes him even more valuable.
Moreover, Liverpool is aware that Saudi Pro League clubs have also shown interest in Díaz, including Al Hilal, which previously attempted to sign Bruno Fernandes for €100 million—despite Fernandes being two years older.
