“Little Women” Kim Go-eun got 30 billion won and the apartment, a happy ending where the dreams of all three sisters came true
The three sisters, Kim Go-eun, Nam Ji-hyun and Park Ji-hoo, of “Little Women,” each found their own happiness.
In tvN’s Saturday and Sunday drama “Little Women,” which aired on Oct 9th, all three sisters have achieved their dreams.
Jin Hwa-young (Choo Ja-hyun), who was accused of embezzlement and was thought to be dead, appeared proudly at the trial of Oh In-joo and surprised everyone. Hwa-young testified that it was all her work with Won Sang-ah (Um Ji-won).
She said, “Oh In-joo had no motive to embezzle 72 billion won, but I had. Won Sang-ah has been trying to accumulate huge wealth through me for more than 10 years and planned to blame everything on me if there was any problem,” she said. “I don’t trust the police or the media. I wanted to give it back to her the same way. This is my personal plan from start to finish and has nothing to do with Oh In-joo,” she claimed.
In-joo was acquitted after Hwa-young’s testimony, and she was released after being sentenced to 2 years in probation for 1 year and 6 months in prison for defrauding 2 billion won. Hwa-young told In-joo, “I just wanted you to live in an apartment. I never thought you would dig into my death and come this far,” she said, explaining what had happened. Hwa-young was always helping In-joo in Singapore.
Hwa-young drew a line to In-joo, saying, “Don’t get involved in my work anymore,” and held a press conference to reveal all of Won Sang-ah’s misdeeds. Hwa-young said, “Two years ago, I met someone with a similar physique to me on a suicide site. At first, my plan was to steal 70 billion won and then sneak it out of the company and make it look like I committed suicide under the pressure,” she confessed.
However, Won Sang-ah illegally broke into Hwa-young’s house, killed the woman who was mistaken to be Hwa-young, and disguised it as suicide, causing Hwa-young’s plan to go awry. Hwa-young revealed the CCTV footage containing Won Sang-ah’s misdeeds and a list of the Won Sang-ah family’s slush funds. Won Sang-ah, who was driven to the corner, kidnapped Hwa-young after killing Jang Sa-pyeong (Jang Kwang), and used Hwa-young as bait to lure In-joo in.
In-joo threatened Won Sang-ah with a grenade, talked about her mother, and tried to appease Won Sang-ah, but Won Sang-ah was not an easy target. Won Sang-ah started the sprinkler system containing hydrochloric acid, and Hwa-young, who was tied to a chair, suffered from hydrochloric acid. In-joo ran using an iron plate as a shield to save Hwa-young, while Won Sang-ah fell on hydrochloric acid and died after a physical fight with In-joo.
After that, In-kyung (played by Nam Ji-hyun) revealed the true nature of the Jeongran Association based on the memoirs Jang Sa-pyeong left for her. After everything was done, In-kyung decided to study in the U.S. with Jong-ho (Kang Hoon), and In-joo achieved her dream by receiving the apartment left by her grandmother.
In-hye (Park Ji-hoo) was with Won Sang-ah’s daughter Hyo-rin (Jeon Chae-eun). The slush fund of 70 billion was in Hyo-rin’s hand, and Hyo-rin shared the money with In-hye and Do-il (Wi Ha-joon) who helped her. In-hye promised to send 10 billion won of the money she received to In-kyung and 30 billion won to In-joo.
As such, the three sisters found their happiness after many twists and turns. In-hye cleared her mind’s debt to her sisters with money and went her way, while In-kyung resumed her studying abroad, which she had given up in the past. In-joo, who had lived a hard life to support her younger siblings, had the apartment she wanted and lived a leisurely life. Reflecting on the lessons of good and evil, “Little Women” left a heavy lingering impression with every episode filled with tension until the end.
