On August 14, Lisa intrigued fans with her long platinum hair as she appeared in the teaser for her new MV “New Woman,” in collaboration with Rosalia, the Spanish singer and songwriter who has won a Grammy Award.
In the teaser, the Thai singer explores a new style, wearing a bra top paired with ultra-short tight pants and a long coat.
Last week, Lisa teased the melody of the new song in a TikTok video. The striking concept photo released with the trailer showcases Lisa’s girl-crush image and Rosalia’s distinctive Spanish style. The idol features curly hair and overlined lips.
In June, Lisa released the single “Rockstar,” which reached number 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 8 on Spotify’s Top Songs Global chart. This single achieved number 4 and number 1 on Billboard’s Global 200 and Global charts, respectively.
The “Rockstar” MV faced accusations of plagiarism when Gabriel Moses, a British director, claimed that Lisa’s video resembled the MV for “FE!N” that he directed for American rapper Travis Scott. Moses posted a clip suggesting that Lisa’s MV copied his idea, showing a scene where the camera continuously pans over Lisa and her dancers, similar to a segment featuring uniformed children in the “FE!N” MV. Moses stated that he had sent an email to Lisa’s team for reference, but despite his objections, the project proceeded.
With her own company, Lisa is ramping up her solo activities. Initially focusing on music projects, she is now also venturing into acting with a role in HBO’s series “The White Lotus.” The singer mentioned that she auditioned for the role herself.
Additionally, Lisa affirmed that BLACKPINK is not disbanding: “We will continue, for sure. We are proud of and love BLACKPINK. Not only for the fans but also for ourselves. This is our life.”
