As BLACKPINK member Lisa continues expanding her solo career on the global stage, discussions surrounding her rapid rise in Hollywood and international entertainment circles are becoming increasingly intense.
Over the past two years, Lisa has transformed from a K-pop superstar into a familiar face at some of the world’s most prestigious entertainment events. Since launching her independent label LLOUD following her departure from YG Entertainment in late 2023, the Thai idol has built an impressive portfolio of performances and appearances that many rising Western artists could only dream of achieving.
In January 2024, Lisa made headlines with her performance at France’s charity concert Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes, where she delivered a live stage accompanied by a full orchestra. The event marked her first major international appearance after leaving YG Entertainment. Shortly afterward, she released “Rockstar,” the first solo project fully managed under her own company.

Lisa then continued her momentum with consecutive releases including “New Woman,” “Moonlit Floor,” “Born Again,” and eventually her debut full-length album Alter Ego in February 2025.
Her international schedule only grew bigger from there.
In September 2024, Lisa delivered a high-profile performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, where she performed “Rockstar” and “New Woman” while also taking home the Best K-Pop award. During the same month, she appeared at the Global Citizen Festival in New York and debuted “Moonlit Floor” live for the first time.

One month later, the singer drew major attention after opening the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show riding a motorcycle during her “Rockstar” performance. By early 2025, Lisa had reached another milestone after appearing as a performer at the Academy Awards alongside Doja Cat and Raye. In 2026, she continued strengthening her Hollywood presence through appearances at the Golden Globe Awards, Coachella alongside Anyma, and the Met Gala as part of the Host Committee.

However, Lisa’s growing list of elite invitations has also triggered criticism online.
Some internet users questioned whether her increasing presence in Hollywood was influenced by her rumored relationship with Frédéric Arnault, the son of LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault. Speculation intensified after her Oscars 2025 performance because Academy Awards musical stages are traditionally reserved for nominees in the Best Original Song category.

Following the event, social media users circulated claims linking LVMH to the Oscars through sponsorship relationships, leading to accusations that Lisa’s appearance may have been backed by powerful industry connections rather than artistic merit alone. Similar discussions resurfaced when Lisa appeared on Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Issue cover and secured a role in HBO’s The White Lotus.
Entertainment journalist Louis Pisano was among those who publicly criticized Lisa’s Hollywood expansion, arguing that her acting debut and luxury fashion visibility reflected privilege and industry networking. Others defended the idol, pointing out that networking has always been a fundamental part of the global entertainment business.

Supporters also argue that while connections may open doors, maintaining relevance on global stages requires public demand, commercial value, and personal star power — all qualities Lisa has consistently demonstrated through her massive fanbase, luxury brand partnerships, and viral performances.
Regardless of the debate, Lisa’s global visibility continues reaching new heights. Whether critics attribute her success to influence, strategy, or talent, her name remains firmly embedded in conversations surrounding the globalization of K-pop and the growing impact of Asian artists in Western entertainment industries.
