Lisa of BLACKPINK has officially been confirmed to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on June 12, marking another major milestone in her global career.
Her management company LLOUD announced: “Happy to announce that LISA will be part of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony, the first largest FIFA World Cup in history!”
The announcement immediately sparked excitement among fans worldwide, especially following reports that Lisa is expected to share the stage with several major international artists, including Katy Perry.
According to U.S. sports media outlet The Athletic, FIFA has been preparing multiple opening ceremony performances featuring globally recognized musicians for the historic tournament.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, making it the largest World Cup in FIFA history with 48 national teams participating.
Reports state that Lisa will appear at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles ahead of the opening match between the United States and Paraguay. The U.S. ceremony lineup is also expected to feature Katy Perry, Future, and DJ Sanjoy.
Meanwhile, Toronto’s opening event in Canada is reportedly set to include performances from Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, and Alessia Cara.
In Mexico City, performances at Estadio Azteca are expected from artists including Maná, Alejandro Fernández, Belinda, and Tyla.
According to reports, the opening performances in both the United States and Canada are expected to run for approximately 13 minutes, while Mexico’s ceremony may last around 16 minutes and 30 seconds.
Lisa’s participation further highlights the growing global influence of K-pop artists at international sporting events. Previously, Jungkook of BTS gained worldwide attention after performing Dreamers at the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Since debuting with BLACKPINK in 2016, Lisa has continued to establish herself as one of the most influential global K-pop stars. Her first solo single album Lalisa broke records with approximately 736,000 first-week sales, becoming the highest first-week sales achieved by a female K-pop soloist at the time.
