Lim Ji Yeon’s drama “The Killing Vote” soars to new real-time rating peak of 5.5% with intense developments

The full-fledged battle between Park Hae Jin & Lim Ji Yeon and the criminal has begun.

The third episode of SBS’s drama “The Killing Vote” (written by Jo Yoon Young/ directed by Park Shin Woo), which aired on August 24th, revealed the story following the ending of episode 2, which showed Kim Moo Chan (Park Hae Jin) facing a historic crisis. The episode was filled with unexpected developments, including the survival of Kim Moo Chan, the police tracking criminals and the more significant presence of Kwon Seok Joo (Park Sung Woong).

The execution of the second death penalty with a national vote created confusion among the public. Some support the killing vote for heinous criminals instead of relying on incompetent police, while others criticize the behaviors of killing someone that led to the sacrifice of innocent police. After the second killing vote execution, people speculate that Kim Moo Chan might have been severely injured. In fact, Kim Moo Chan was injured but it’s not life-threatening. However, the police made a false claim of Kim Moo Chan’s injury to redirect public opinion and gather clues for the upcoming killing vote. Kwon Seok Joo looked distressed due to the news of Kim Moo Chan’s injury.

In the meantime, Joo Hyeon (Lim Ji Yeon) discovered the location where the criminals conducted their killing vote broadcast with the help of her younger sister Joo Min (Kwon Ah Reum) and Joo Min’s friend Kim Ji Hoon (Seo Young Joo). Surprisingly, the location turned out to be Kwon Seok Joo’s house. Joo Hyeon broke into Kwon Seok Joo’s house and found a clue. At that moment, someone attacked her but Kim Moo Chan suddenly appeared and rescued her.

Later, Joo Hyeon explained the clue she collected and asked Kwon Seok Joo if he knew anything about the killing vote as well as the criminal group behind it. In response, Kwon Seok Joo shocked everyone with his revelation of a murder case 8 years ago. When Kim Moo Chan confronted Kwon Seok Joo, Kwon Seok Joo told Joo Hyeon, “Don’t trust Kim Moo Chan too much.”

Just as Kim Moo Chan and Joo Hyeon were leaving Kwon Seok Joo’s house, the criminals launched an unexpected broadcast and announced the truth of Kim Moo Chan’s fake news. Standing in front of the reporters in front of the prison after the broadcast, Kim Moo Chan warned, “People behind the killing vote, don’t be mistaken! You’re not heroes. I will definitely catch you”.

Episode 3 of “The Killing Vote” saw an increase in viewer ratings, recording a nationwide viewership of 4.1% according to Nielsen Korea. The broadcast ranked No.1 among all dramas aired on Thursday at the same broadcasting time. Its real-time peak reached 5.5%. In the 2049 chart, “The Killing Vote” recorded 1.8% and topped the rankings of all Thursday programs.
