On the June 17 episode of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, Lim Ji Yeon spoke candidly about her experience with what was supposed to be a semi-permanent eyeliner tattoo.

During the show, she explained, “When I was 20, semi-permanent makeup was extremely popular. So I got an eyeliner tattoo, but I guess it wasn’t semi-permanent it was permanent because it never faded.” She added, “The only way to remove it was through laser treatment, but I heard the swelling would be severe, so I never had the courage to do it.”

However, she went on to reveal that constantly having to conceal the tattoo during filming eventually became too troublesome, leading her to finally undergo the removal procedure.

Previously, Lim Ji Yeon had appeared on the YouTube channel Jo Hyun Ah’s Ordinary Thursday Night, where she openly expressed her desire to remove the eyeliner tattoo. At the time, she admitted that the result looked very different from what she had originally expected and said she regretted the procedure almost immediately after getting it done.

She also emphasized, “Once I finish filming this project, I’m definitely going to remove it.”

Now that she has appeared publicly after the removal, netizens have responded positively. Comments included, “She looks much softer,” “She’s beautiful even without it,” and “It was a good decision to remove it.”

Meanwhile, Lim Ji Yeon has recently been earning praise for her performance in the SBS Friday-Saturday drama My Royal Nemesis, where she takes on dual roles as Joseon-era villain Kang Dan Shim and modern-day aspiring actress Shin Seo Ri. The series has showcased her growing versatility as an actress.

My Royal Nemesis is scheduled to conclude on June 20.
