Actor Lee Yi Kyung is currently under intense public and media scrutiny following serious allegations about his private life, raised by a woman identified only as A. The situation has grown more volatile after A announced that she is gathering additional evidence and plans to release more information soon.
The controversy began when A publicly disclosed what she claims are private conversations with Lee Yi Kyung, including video clips allegedly showing messages exchanged via his official social media account. On October 21, she clarified her previous actions, admitting that she once lied to his agency out of fear of legal threats from Lee, but insisted, “I want to emphasize once again, it’s not about money. Please wait a bit longer while I gather more evidence.”
Despite the mounting claims, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency Sangyoung ENT has firmly denied the allegations, labeling them as “groundless rumors”. In a statement, the agency said it is “preparing legal action against the spread of false information and malicious rumors,” adding that they would assess the damages and respond with full legal measures.
The impact on Lee Yi‑Kyung’s career is already being felt. Having debuted around 2011–2012, he built a strong presence across dramas, films, and especially variety shows. In film, he recently starred in Hitman 2 (2025) as Chul. On the small screen, his latest works include the dramas Marry My Husband (2024) where he played Bong Cheol‑hee, and Face Me (2024) as Han Woo‑jin. He currently appears on multiple variety programmes, including Hangout with Yoo (MBC), I Am Solo (SBS Plus/ENA), Handsome Guys (tvN), and Brave Detectives (E Channel). He was also slated to join The Return of Superman (KBS2) as a new MC.
Broadcast networks are reportedly in a bind, unsure how to handle the situation while the truth remains unclear. Notably, the production team behind “I Am Solo” has decided to air the October 22 episode as scheduled without editing Lee Yi Kyung out. However, with the public sharply divided and both sides unwilling to back down, the entertainment industry continues to monitor the situation closely.
