On November 12, Lee Yi Kyung was seen at Incheon International Airport shooting scenes for the upcoming TBS drama Dream Stage, slated for release in January next year. The drama is a Korea-Japan joint production between CJ ENM and Japan’s TBS. Lee stars as the lead, filming alongside Japanese actor Tomoya Nakamura and Korean actress Ha Yeon Soo in scenes set in Korea.
Dream Stage is one of several co-productions under a partnership between CJ ENM and the TBS Group, which agreed in May 2024 to jointly create multiple films and dramas over three years.

Lee’s casting as the male lead reportedly comes off the back of his rising popularity in Japan, particularly after his tvN drama Marry My Husband was remade into a Japanese version and received favorable responses locally.
In addition to this project, Lee is also lined up for the Vietnamese film I Am Here, keeping his schedule jam-packed.
Meanwhile, last month, an online user stirred controversy by sharing alleged private messages with Lee Yi Kyung. However, the individual later retracted the claims, admitted the content was fabricated using AI, and issued a public apology. Lee’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, responded by stating, “We are preparing legal action against the spread of false information and malicious rumors,” and vowed to seek compensation for damages caused.
Coincidentally, during the same period, Lee announced his departure from the variety show Hangout with Yoo due to scheduling conflicts. He was also initially tapped as a new MC for KBS 2TV’s The Return of Superman but ultimately did not join.
Despite this, he confirmed his continued appearances on other popular variety shows like I Am Solo and Brave Detectives 4, ensuring fans that his TV presence remains strong.
