According to a May 16 report by MyDaily, Lee Sung Min contacted Shin Se Kyung the day after the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards on May 8 to personally apologize for comments that unintentionally caused misunderstanding.
Lee Sung Min won Best Supporting Actor in the film category for “No Other Choice” at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards. During his acceptance speech, he jokingly said, “I was so nervous because Yeom Hye Ran was nominated,” adding, “When Hye Ran didn’t win, I even cursed internally.” His comment drew laughter from the audience.
However, the Best Supporting Actress award in the film category ultimately went to Shin Se Kyung for “Humint.” Actress Yeom Hye Ran, who played Lee Sung Min’s wife in “No Other Choice,” had also been nominated in the same category.
According to insiders present at the event, there was no awkward atmosphere during the ceremony itself. One industry source explained, “Lee Sung Min is someone who always thinks about his team members more than his own achievements, so it was simply a lighthearted joke.
