Lee Si-young, “‘Sweet Home’ Series Is Like A ‘Parenting Diary’ To Me”

On the morning of July 17th, the press conference of “Sweet Home 3” took place at the Grand Ballroom of JW Marriott Hotel in Dongdaemun Square, Seoul. Director Lee Eung-bok, and the cast, including Lee Jin-wook, Lee Si-young, Go Min-si, Jinyoung, Yoo Oh-sung, Oh Jung-se, Kim Moo-yeol and Kim Si-ah, attended the event. Actors Song Kang and Lee Do-hyun couldn’t join the team because they were serving in the military.

Lee Si-young, who has been with the “Sweet Home” series since the first season, constantly performs impressive action scenes reminiscent of Angelina Jolie as former firefighter Seo Yi-kyung. In Season 2, which was released last year, the actress portrayed the tragedy of having to witness her daughter transforming into a monster while trying to protect the girl.

At the press conference, Lee Si-young shared, “I felt a sense of regret while acting. My character receives great comfort from the child, but it is unfortunate that she couldn’t show much emotion due to the fear of something happening. As a parent myself, I feel this even more clearly”.

Revealing that she remembers “Sweet Home” series as a project like a “parenting diary”, Lee Si-young confessed, “I gave birth to my child in 2018 and started filming this series in 2019. My child already turns 7 years old and is about to enter elementary school, so I feel like we’ve grown up together, making this project more memorable”.

After releasing the first season at the end of 2020 and Season 2 at the end of 2023, “Sweet Home” is introducing Season 3 this summer. “Sweet Home 3” will depict the desperate struggle of people who are at the ambiguous boundary between monsters and humans against the backdrop of a world that marks the beginning of an era for new humans when the monster tragedy is about to come to an end.
