Singer and actor Lee Seung-gi (38), once adored as Korea’s “Nation’s Little Brother,” continues to face relentless public scrutiny, with his image taking repeated blows due to family scandals and unfortunate associations.
After debuting in 2004 and charming the nation with hits like Because You’re My Woman, Lee established himself as a multi-talented figure across music, acting, and variety. He was widely supported in 2022 during his public dispute over unpaid earnings with his former agency.

However, his reputation has shifted dramatically in recent years. Following his 2023 marriage to actress Lee Da-in daughter of veteran actress Kyeon Mi-ri, Lee found himself linked to his in-laws’ controversies. His father-in-law was indicted for stock manipulation and recently sentenced over capital market violations, despite Lee once publicly defending him. Lee has since retracted his earlier statements, admitted fault, and announced he and his wife would sever ties with her family.
Yet the damage to his credibility has been severe. Recently, MC Mong embroiled in his own controversies shared an old photo featuring Lee, his wife, her sister Lee Yu-bi, and associates, reigniting negative attention. Matters escalated when Lee Da-in clashed with MC Mong online, drawing Lee back into a storm he has chosen to remain silent about, a decision that some see as hiding behind his wife.

Once celebrated for his wholesome image, Lee now struggles to escape the ripple effects of scandals he did not directly cause. Whether he can recover from the fallout remains uncertain.
