On September 25th, tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” aired a special episode titled “I Make Myself”, featuring actress Lee Se-young who shared insights into her career and her enduring friendship with fellow actress Park Eun-bin.
Lee Se-young, who made her acting debut at the young age of 6, reflected on the circumstances that led to her early start in the industry. “People used to say, ‘Her eyes are really big and she’s thin… TV producers would love her’ to us when my mother took me out,” She recalled. However, Lee Se-young added a more serious note, explaining, “There were many cases of child kidnapping at that time. I think my parents thought that if my face was known on TV, it might be safer for me.”
The actress then touched on her early maturity, saying, “While my peers were often crying and snotty, I learned to handle things on my own from a young age. I became adept at presenting myself as neat and quiet.”
One of the most intriguing revelations from the interview was Lee Se-young’s long-standing relationship with Park Eun-bin, another former child actress. “We often acted together as sisters or friends in various projects”, she explained. Their friendship, however, took an unexpected turn as they grew older.
“I ran into her by chance at a makeup/hair shop after we had both become adults”, Lee Se-young shared. “When we were young, we didn’t have cell phones, so our mothers were the ones who kept in touch.” She then described their heartwarming reunion: “We exchanged numbers, and I found myself saying, ‘Eun-bin! I watched your show.’ We exchanged numbers and occasionally check in on each other.”
