At 37, Lee Se-young reflected on her past engagement, revealing that she had no immediate plans to remarry. She explained that the breakup, described as a “situational separation,” stemmed from practical challenges: her mother was seriously ill, making it impossible for her to leave Korea, while her fiancé needed to travel abroad. This created ongoing difficulties and emotional strain, leading them to mutually decide to end the engagement.
Lee Se-young emphasized that the separation was amicable, stating, “We parted coolly. I said, ‘Take care.’”
She also shared details about her past relationship, describing how she met her Japanese boyfriend while he was studying Korean and how their romance developed over shared experiences, from buying strawberry lattes for each other to frequenting Itaewon. She praised his individualistic personality, noting their compatibility despite cultural differences.
Regarding public exposure, Lee Se-young admitted that she no longer plans to disclose future relationships, believing that sharing everything publicly does not always bring positive outcomes.
